Tinubu appoints Governing Council, Principal Officers for FUTES Iyin-Ekiti

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of governing council and principal officers for the newly-established Federal University of Technology and Environmental Sciences, Iyin-Ekiti, Ekiti State.
This was contained in a statement issued yesterday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga.
Senator Binta Garba has been named Pro-Chancellor and Chairperson of the governing council. A seasoned politician and administrator, she previously represented Adamawa North Senatorial District in the Senate from 2015 to 2019 and served three consecutive terms in the House of Representatives from 1999 to 2011.
Other members of the governing council are Prof. Joseph Sanya, Mr. Efe Emmanuel, Dr. Joyce Ogunyemi and Alhaji Dahiru Ruma.
The principal officers of the university include Prof. James Aribisala as Vice Chancellor, Mr. Oluwole Dada as Registrar, Mrs. Adeniyi Ajayi as Bursar and Prof. Isaac Busayo as Librarian.
President Tinubu hailed Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele for his role in advocating the university’s establishment and urged the new appointees to leverage their expertise to drive academic excellence, research and development. The university is set to admit its first set of students in September.
